Victor Villadangos was born in Buenos Aires. He completed the classical guitar diploma studies in Conservatorio Juan José Castro, where he is now a teacher. He has recorded six solo CDs and he is active as a soloist and teacher all over the world. Currently he is considered as the top guitarist of Argentina. He has collaborated with important orchestras of Latin America, such as the Cuba Symphony Orchestra and the Montevideo Philharmonic as well as with string quartets. He has been honored for his artistic achievement with the “Diploma al Mérito” from Fundación KONEX, a not-for-profit cultural institution of Argentina.
O Victor Villadangos γεννήθηκε στο Buenos Aires της Αργεντινής. Πήρε δίπλωμα κλασικής κιθάρας από το Conservatorio Juan José Castro της πόλης, όπου και διδάσκει σήμερα. Έχει ηχογραφήσει έξι solo CD και δίνει ρεσιτάλ και masterclass σε όλον τον κόσμο. Αυτήν τη στιγμή είναι ο κορυφαίος κιθαρίστας της Αργεντινής. Έχει εμφανιστεί με σημαντικές ορχήστρες της Λατινικής Αμερικής, όπως η Συμφωνική Ορχήστρα της Κούβας και η Φιλαρμονική Ορχήστρα του Montevideo αλλά και με κουαρτέτα εγχόρδων. Federico Moreno Torroba (1891 – 1982) was a Spanish composer, conductor and music critic of the 20th century. He was born in Madrid. His first music teacher was his own father, who played the organ. Although Torroba wasn’t a guitarist, his friendship with Segovia gave him the impetus to compose for the guitar. Sonatina, Castillos de España and Piezas características are some of the most important works of the guitar repertoire. He has also composed guitar concerts. In his music, he retains a conservative style, rejecting the modern techniques of his era. He has adopted expressive elements from the Spanish musical tradition (like Rodrigo or Turina).
Ο Federico Moreno Torroba (1891 – 1982) είναι Ισπανός συνθέτης, μαέστρος και μουσικοκριτικός του 20ου αιώνα. Γεννήθηκε στη Μαδρίτη. Ξεκίνησε μαθήματα μουσικής με τον πατέρα του, που ήταν οργανίστας (έπαιζε δηλαδή εκκλησιαστικό όργανο, organ). Αν και ο ίδιος δεν ήταν κιθαρίστας, η φιλία του με τον κιθαρίστα Segovia του έδωσε το έναυσμα για να συνθέσει για το όργανο. Έτσι, η Sonatina, τα Castillos de España και τα Piezas características είναι πολύ σημαντικά έργα του ρεπερτορίου της κιθάρας (έχει γράψει και άλλα έργα). Επίσης, συνέθεσε και κοντσέρτα για κιθάρα και ορχήστρα. Στη μουσική του επέλεξε να μην υιοθετήσει τις μοντέρνες τεχνικές του 20ου αιώνα, αλλά διατήρησε ένα πιο συντηρητικό στυλ, αντλώντας εκφραστικά στοιχεία και από την μουσική παράδοση της Ισπανίας (όπως και ο Rodrigo ή ο Turina).
